Alchemy

To create the Alchemy series, I used different versions of Midjourney from version 3 to 6.1. I choose the prompt Remedios Varo along with the word alchemy"  Remedios Varo was a surrealist artist born in Spain in 19 and  moved to Mexico with writers and artists of the Surrealist movement all exiled from Europe

Varos was nspired by the art of the Renaissance. Varos's small paintings are dreamlike and otherworldly but also deeply personal. Varo's was influenced by spiritual alchemy, a process of transforming common minerals into “gold." From a psychological perspective the transformation, frees your spiritual self from your fears, limiting belief systems, and lack of self-acceptance. It is a rich exploration of the unconscious, the metaphysical, and the mysterious forces of the inner life. Varos paintings often include scientific experimentation, occult symbolism, and laboratories with work tables filled with vessels for purification. The researchers in the alchemical laboratories sometimes aren't human.

In spiritual alchemy, the vessel is the "place" of purification. In the vessel, we add, mix, seek, dispose, and find transformation for personal transcendence. The alchemist's goal of creating gold is similar to the artist's quest for knowledge and purification to unfold the authentic self and the magic of the creative process.
